Fallout 76 Opinion Piece

I have always been a big fan of the Fallout series ever since I played Fallout 3.  I played Fallout 3 game of the year addition that had all of the DLCs (down loadable content) include. One of the main reasons that I liked playing Fallout 3 was that I had no idea about the game until I got it. Fast forward until November 14, 2018 when Fallout 76 came out.

Here is the trailer for the game.

Fallout 76 is the first game in the series to feature multiplayer. When this was announced, some people did not like this because the fallout series has always been single player. When I heard about this, I did not care that it was multiplayer as long as it felt like a fallout game and it did. I would have prefer if it would have been single player because I am not a big multiplayer type of person.

One big aspect that some players did not like was the story. A basic summary of the story is that the main character is a vault due to nukes going off. The vault opens 35 years after the nukes have fallen witch making it the earliest fallout game in the franchisee. The reason that people don”t like the story is that there are no npc (non player characters) to talk to and progress the story. Instead, the story is told tough tapes found although the game. As you play through the game you figure out why there are no npc.

Here is the opening scene from the game.

I want to give my opinion on the story. Yes, the story is told through notes and tapes but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be emotional or entertaining. I have not beat the main story as of writing this, but I think that I can speak about it since I am near the end of the game. I believe that the tapes had more depth to the story instead of just normal npc because I can feel the emotion and feels of the character more since I am not looking at the character. Think of the story as a book. You imagine what the characters of the book are and you the same in the game.

Game play is a another aspect that people don’t like. I think that one thing that sticks out that from game play that people don’t like is that some weapons and armor are locked if you are not a certain level. For example, let’s say that you find this cool armor and you want to wear it but to wear the armor, you must be at level 50, but you are only level 40. This technique is common in MMO (massive multiplayer open world) because they want to keep all of the players equal when it comes to levels. I am not a big fan of this because I hoard all of my loot and I misplace the gun or armor and i forget about it.

Here is a clip of the game-play.

Since this is a Funko blog, I would like to talk about Fallout Funko pops. There are four series. The first series covers characters from Fallout 3 and the previous ones. For example, two of the creatures are the Death Claw and the Super Mutant. You can see all of the fallout Funko products here.  The second series has characters from Fallout 4. The final series is from Fallout 76 witch is pictured below.

I want to end this post by saying that Fallout 76 is a not bad game but not a great game. I did not touch on some aspects of the game because I don’t know what to say about them. For example, the Atomic Shop is were people can buy stuff with real money or with atoms they earn while playing. I also didn’t talk about the black lash that Bethesda is under for because of the game. I tend to stay out of drama and I don’t want this blog to be about drama. I really do enjoy Fallout 76 and it’s fun. It just have some problems.

Emerald City Comic Con: Funko’s home Comic Con

It’s the time again of con session. Con session consists of many different Comic Cons, but there are four major ones that Funko takes part in. The four are Emerald city, San Diego, New York, and Las Angles Comic-Con. This post will be talking about the Emerald City Comic Con because it is the first one that kicks the con session off.

Emerald City Comic Con takes place in Seattle Washington which happens to be the home state of Funko. Since its the home state, Funko usually does some big stuff. It mainly features something green when it comes to the products they release because green is heavily featured in Seattle. Here is the website for more information.

Here is a video of the Funko both from last year at the con.

As you can tell, most of the exclusives are green. The dates for the con this year are March 14-17 so about a month as of writing this. They have not released what kind of products they are going to have. There have been rumors about which ones might be released, and I have seen a picture that might show whats cumming out, but I don’t want to talk about rumors or speculation. When Funko does release them, they will be on the Funko website under blog which can be found here.

I know what your thinking: Its a comic con and it’s going to exclusive Funko products that I can’t get because I can’t go to the con.” Don’t worry, most of the Funko products at the con will be shared with other stores such as HotTopic and Game Stop. The only problem is that the products will be limited at each store and when the store sells out, they may or may not get them back in stock. For example, for one con Game Stop got a Funko pop that everyone wanted, but each store only got four, and they were sold out within minutes of the store opening.

Here is a video of the exclusives from last year at the con.

I want to end this post by saying that I hope you have good luck trying to find the Funko products you want. Remember, don’t collect on value, but collect on the fandom you want in your collection.

Video games
and much more

On their blog, they announce what new series they have gotten and new brands that they have. They also announce when the product will hit shelves.

Twice a year at San Diego Comic-con and New York comic con, Funko makes exclusives that can only be bought at the convention. They do release some of the exclusives during the convention, but Funko divided them among their retailers.

Pictured here are two San-Diego Comic Con exclusives (Pajama Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas and Violet Beaureguard from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.)

If you were to try to get the exclusives before they were sold out, then I would recommend going to the Funko subreddit. On this subreddit, you can interact with other collectors and learn when exclusives go on sale and where to find them.

For there pop line, which is the most popular, they come in different sizes. The tallest size is 9 inches, and the smallest is 3 inches.

They also come in different variations. One variant is called flocked, with means it is soft. Funko mostly does this with creatures, like dogs. Another variant is black and white. This one is nothing special, but it has no color. The hardest one to find is the chase variant because Funko only makes a thousand of them and once they are sold out they won’t remake them. Some people have been lucky to find them out in the wild.
